"This Crooked Path You've Drawn" is the debut release for Cloakwheel, a progressive metal band based out of San Francisco.  Musically the album appeals to fans of bands like Opeth, Nevermore, Dream Theater, Megadeth, Porcupine Tree, Faith No More, Amorphis, Rush, Tool and Isis.  Not symphonic in approach, the music style ranges from thrashy to classical with a modern vocal approach.  There are plenty of guitar solos and dynamic vocal arrangements that appeal to listeners of all kinds and intriguing lyrical content to keep you interested after many listens.  The album was written, recorded, produced and mixed by the members of the band and has outstanding production quality.  Cloakwheel has had full articles in Guitar Player magazine and Drum Magazine discussing the production and recording processes that went into churning out this polished album.  This is one of those albums that you notice something new everytime you listen to it.
